You get it. You really do. The Avengers are a team, and you wouldn’t quit fighting while one of your teammates was still missing. You haven’t thought about it in a while, because you’ve got a new team now, but S.H.I.E.L.D. was always like that, too. In fact, you’re betting Coulson knew what Sitwell was going to say before he even made the call to abort.

But the order was given, and you’re not a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent right now; you’re an Avenger. So it really comes down to a question of your priorities - are you going to stay and fight with Sitwell, or are you going to obey Coulson’s order?
