He tries. He tries valiantly; you can actually see him straining, even through the crimson-tinged air, but it’s no good. Bruce is just too drained. The Hulk is a once-a-day opportunity, not a pop-gun he can fire at will. Thank God at least Thor’s still with you, swinging Mjölnir in wide arcs around the edge of the small circle he’s defending, you and Bruce and one or two remaining ex-prisoners.
It’s barely enough, even with Thor’s hammer and your arrows; there are too many of them, and you’re holding the fight in balance, counting the arrows you fire and calculating what’s left in your quiver.
Of course, that’s when Sitwell radios desperately out to you, “I’ve got Widow! I need help!”
You and Thor look at one another, helpless. Does one of you go to help him? Will the other one be able to hold the Hydra attack in check alone? Bruce might be able to fight a little, but not much, not in the state he’s in.
If you radio Coulson for backup to help Sitwell, turn to page 91.
If you send Thor to help Sitwell, turn to page 96.
If you go to help Sitwell yourself, turn to page 97.
