“Bruce,” you say, “you and Thor get these guys out of here, okay?” He nods his understanding, and you take off back in the direction you came to see if you can find Agent Woo anywhere. He’d have been kept in the deepest part of the cell block, far away from any other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents or government personnel being held here.

You find him, in the end, by almost running over him in your search; you’re turning a corner at the end of a dim corridor when he makes a faint sound and you stop short, sharp eyes searching the darkness until you spot him. He’s hurt, badly, but you scoop him up (staggering a little because he’s not heavy, but you’re no weightlifter) and make for the extraction point.

Nearly there, you suddenly lurch and drop to one knee, vicious pain in your leg and there’s blood (too much blood, you want to make a joke, just a flesh wound, but somehow the humour isn’t coming). You realize very quickly that you aren’t going anywhere, and you won’t last long staying still, either.

The last thing you do is lay down cover fire so that Woo can make it the last little way to the extraction point. At least, you tell yourself, the mission was successful. It’s enough.
